Living with a host mom was such an awesome experience because we got to watch the way she lives, and we got to eat the food spaniards eat everyday in their homes. -Julie
The home itself was very homey, the food was amazing, and the relationship that we formed with our mom is one that will last a lifetime. -Sophie

The TTU Center

The best part about the TTU Center was that it was a walkable distance from our host home. The classrooms were the perfect size and the TTU staff and students were so welcoming and nice. -Sophie

The staff at the Tech center were all friendly and the lessons were fun. -Josh

These people (the staff) are awesome. They've done just about everything in Sevilla and can answer almost any question you ask. -Ethan

ExcursionsExcursions are meant to provide historical and cultural context to the learning that takes place in the host home and the classroom. Here are the excursions:
Cathedral of Seville, Calle Feria flea market, La Rábida monastery and museum, Ronda, Matalascañas beach, Triana, The Alcázar of Seville, Itálica Roman Ruins, Casa Pilatos, flamenco performance, bullfight, Granada and the Alhambra, Córdoba and the Great Mosque |

The excursions were my favorite and most memorable part about Spain. -Ethan
The Moorish architecture in the Alhambra and the Alcázar was one of my favorite things we saw on our excursions. -Chloe
CommunicationIt is imperative, both for convenience and safety, that the Summer in Seville group be able to communicate with each other and back home at all times. As such, each participant is required to have at least a basic international data package and WhatsApp. Parents back home are also encouraged to download the app so they can text their student at any time. Host homes and the TTU Center provide wifi for Skype, FaceTime and WhatsApp calls.
WhatsApp was a simple and valuable way to communicate with the group, family back home, and even our host families. -Griffin
I never felt disconnected or scared and WhatsApp was incredibly similar to normal texting. I never had any problems with data usage because WhatsApp was very efficient. -Ethan
With WhatsApp and FaceTime, I think it was very easy to communicate with both the group and our families. -Chloe
Health and SafetyGenerally speaking, Spain is safer even than the US in terms of violent crime and terrorism. That said, we'll be taking the following precautions: student safety information during orientation; staying together in our host home groups; supervision from Lovejoy chaperones, host families, and TTU staff; maintaining open lines of communication as described above; health insurance included in the program cost; enrollment in the US Department of State's Smart Traveler Enrollment Program
I felt very safe because of how much our host mom cared about us, and how important it was to the TTU staff to keep us safe!! Also, with Seth being so protective we all knew we were safe. -Julie
I felt very safe during my time in Sevilla. We never went anywhere alone, the neighborhood that my host home was in was very friendly so I never worried about that. -Sophie
I felt very well looked after when traveling on the excursions, to and from my host family's house and the Tech Center and in my host families home. -Griffin
